Our History

Since its founding in 1986 with 30 students and 6 full-time faculty members, Tianjin International School has experienced steady growth and expansion.  One of the first international schools of the modern era in China, today it has more than 400 students and nearly 120 staff members offering academic programs from the Foundation Class for three-year-olds to 12th grade.  TIS is also the founding member and flagship school of International Schools of China, an organization which now has six schools in China with approximately 1,400 students and 500 full- and part-time staff members.
