Secondary Athletics
Middle school and high school after-school sports: High School - Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer; Middle School - Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball
Student Council
High school students elect a student council to represent them. Council members serve as a liaison between the administration and student body, and also plan events and activities during the school year.
Drama
TIS stages a number of theatrical productions each year. Learn make-up, lighting, set design and acting.
Model United Nations
Available for both middle and high school students. Learn about global issues, civic responsibilities, oratory, research and even travel to regional conferences.
Community Service
Our students learn how to be good neighbors in Tianjin -- planting trees, visiting orphans, and helping Chinese students practice English.
Choral
Middle and high school students may join choral groups who perform in school concerts twice a year, as well as performances throughout China.
Art
All TIS students enjoy regular art classes, studying art history as well as the techniques needed for painting, drawing, sculpting and pottery design. Advanced students may also develop their own portfolios and gallery displays.
Band
Students in grades 5 - 8 are given the opportunity to experience different band instruments. Throughout high school, instrumental students perform in one concert per semester, as well as other ensembles.
Yearbook
Supported by the yearbook class, students are charged with designing and developing the current TIS yearbook.
