Devolping globally-minded future leaders.
My name is Jacob Way and I am the MUN director. I have grown up participating in several mock government programs and want to bring real-life application to the classroom.
Model United Nations is an extracurricular activity that teaches public speaking, debate, research, and writing skills in a highly-interactive simulation of the United Nations. Students research and represent various countries from around the world at different conferences throughout the year. Students are put into committees that try to solve problems that the United Nations deals with. Afterwards, students write and debate resolutions and work together to enact change. This is a great activity for all those interested in international relations or for those wanting to grow in public speaking. So I highly encourage students to come join MUN today!
My vision for MUN is for students to gain the confidence and competence in debate and public speaking. This, along with the collaborative skills will help students become expert negotiators and learn how to accomplish things with others in the real world. I also want to keep hosting one of the highlights on the MUN calendar TIANMUN which provides invaluable experience for all rising leaders in MUN.
