Our History
Tianjin International School is the 2nd oldest international school in China and the oldest in Tianjin. TIS was founded in 1986 and initially had only 30 students, 6 full-time teachers, and several part-time teachers.
In January of 2012, TIS opened its doors to our current campus, in the Hexi district of Tianjin. With over 35 years of excellence in Tianjin, our school now serves over 300 students, with over 45 foreign teachers, and contains many facilities that increase the richness of the student experience.
